Wood tones, earth hues, copper, and birch flow through Ruttger’s Sugar Lake Lodge. The feel of Minnesota's north woods surrounds with the overflowing gardens of native and wildlife-attracting vegetation. Ruttger’s Sugar Lake Lodge occupies a site of an Ojibwa Sugar Camp. It is a privilege to be stewards of this land. Sugar (Sissebakwet) Lake once hosted Otis Lodge where founder Art Otis saw the beauty of this area and decided that he needed to share it. Sugarbrooke Golf Course was once a landing strip carved out of the forest by Art and brought distinguished guests to Sugar Lake from all over the country. Ruttger’s Sugar Lake Lodge opened its doors in 1993 and has grown to be a destination for social and conferencing guests looking for that spot to REALLY get away.
